If you count Halloween, “holiday season” is well underway by now. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, and then we’ll look up and realize Christmas is just around the corner… crazy! I love this time of year for lots of reasons, but one of the highlights is always sharing Sun Valley with friends and family. Whether you’ve got a spare bedroom that needs some love or just want to give your guests the ultimate home-away-from-home experience, I thought I’d share some hosting essentials from our online store. Keep reading for my guide!
I feel like this post has to start with a great set of warm, fluffy bath towels. Whether your guests are drying off after an apres-ski shower or snuggling up outside the hot tub, our Coyuchi Cloud Loom Organic Towels couldn’t be more perfect. Long-staple organic Turkish cotton gives these towels warmth and fluffiness—without making them too heavy. Grab a six piece set in any of our five beautiful colors, from Alpine White to Fog.
Especially for guests who might not be used to the cold, I’d definitely recommend some layered bedding. When nights get chilly, your friends and family can pull on an extra throw or heavy blanket for some added heat. For something that balances simplicity with texture, check out our Valley Club Throw. A pop of warm earth tones and ivory tassels make this blanket a fun addition to any solid bedding scheme. And if you’ve been on the lookout for a statement-making piece, you’ll absolutely love our Faux Fur Throw. With white, gray, and warm neutral colors, you can find the perfect shade for styling your guest bedroom (or a cozy fireside nook in your living room).
I love the idea of having a pitcher and glasses ready in a guest bedroom. For guests tired after a long day of travel, some fresh ice water on a nightstand is a simple way to welcome them home. Our Recycled Glass Pitcher is as pretty as it is practical. Grab a few mason jars for that classic mountain modern look.
I’d also recommend a few bars of our Organic Bar Soap. With nine different scents, you can mix and match based on season or time of year (Cinnamon & Ginger is my favorite for fall and winter guests). For essentials like shampoo and soap, it’s best if you can have everything freshly restocked for when your guests arrive. For $10, these bar soaps are the perfect fix.
I know hosting friends and family can be overwhelming—especially around the holidays—but with a few basics, you can make their visit more memorable (and relaxing). And when everyone’s settled, don’t forget to enjoy the company!
